The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2 Review

So after a totally no action movie part 1, come this got some action movie part 2. Looking back this The Hunger Games series is not really action movies. But a twilight + star wars + battle royael type of movie. So is it bad or is it good? Let's find out

  I really like the sort of plot twist in this movie :)  nospoiler. This movie is quite dark, the things that Katness had to go through is really a torture. No wonder she is the hero. I like her as the hero, she got time to shine in this movie.  This movie is all about her, it is not like Hobbit where the hobbit is just there.

  Then there is PETA. I really hate him in the first arc of the movie, I dislike him since the first movie. But this movie let me gradually dont hate him when the movie progress. So I got to give credit to the writing and acting.

  NOT Enough ACTION/WAR, I really hope there are more epic battle but I can tell the budget for this movie is not that big. Some of the action in this movie are quite cool but not enough.

  The movie draggggg. It drag for no reason, some of the dialog feel like filler. I like President Snow in this movie :)

Spectre Review

                                               

 

    Spectre is a disappointing film. The trailer makes me so hype up and especially Christopher Waltz will be the villain of the movie. The movie is not interesting at all. Especially the story about MI6 is no longer needed and can be replace by surveillance technology. The villain doesn't appear much in the movie. I know they are using many practical effects for this movie but it doesn't make the action scene more fun to watch. The big ending climate action scene is really boring. There are too many unnecessary cast and story in the movie. I got to say the movie is beautifully shot.

Attack on Titan live action movie part 1 review

  This movie is dam terrible. Before I start my rant I will say that the giant looks very creative and menacing. However that the is the only good thing of the movie. yea the movie call attack on titan, only when the titans attack are the only great, the rest are unwatchable.

  I did watch the anime, I think the anime did way better job than this. I will review this in non anime viewer and anime viewer stand point.

  Story occurs in Japan, where somehow giants exist and love to eat humans. So the human lived in the city protect with wall. Where did the giants come from? no one knows. Basically the main plot is giants break through the wall, then 3 years later they trying to fix that wall to stop giant to come in. That is it... It is very similar to the movie Mad Max, post apocalypse world and a simple story. But Attack on Titan most cast act poorly and uninteresting character. Their acting skill really questionable, it is more fake than the CG of this movie.

  Let start with the main protagonist Eren. He wants to get out of the world to see the big world. He wants to take revenge on the titans because the titan killed his love one. But there is no scene to express how much he hate the titans and how emotional he is still after 3 years. No, we only see him the whole time quarrel with another guy. I didn't see any friendship connect between Eren and his friend Armin. So the scene in the final arc seem not convincing.

  Then there is Eren friend , Armin. Armin just like trying to woo Sha Sha this whole time. Nothing to say about him. No character at all. At least in the anime, Armin is a coward and is really Eren bff.

  Mikasa (aka Eren girlfriend),  .She wasn't strong before the titans attack. I do not know why the movie studio wants to change her story, it is the biggest mistake. she got poor acting skill like Eren. I don't feel she really can kickass. Mikasa in the anime is wayyyy better.

  Hange, she is very stupid and very weak compare to the anime. I wonder how she got her top rank in the movie version. She portrayed as she has a sadist fetish towards the giant. But the way she trying to act like one is like she is telling a joke but no one laugh.

  Shikishima, a new character not from the anime. Whenever he is on the screen, I wanted to punch his face. He is so unlikeable. I do not know what his purpose, maybe he is the bad guy in part 2. I really hope he die. Yea spoiler , nothing bad happen to him in this movie ARRRGH

Action feel like a B movie. CG is bad but can consider good enough for Japan movie standard.

Some of the scene where how the Titans kill the human is over the top. Way too much blood. More blood than tarantino films. I wanted to feel the emotional scene of humans being kill but the among of blood just trying to tell the audience that this is all fake.

I do not recommend watching this film.

Mission Impossible Rogue Nation Review

 Mission Impossible Rogue Nation is the 5th mission impossible movie. It is directed by Christopher McQuarrie who directed Edge of Tomorrow. Staring none other than Tom Cruise again. You might think the 5th franchise is going to go down hill, no you are wrong. To me it is better than Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol.

 The movie is action packed and has many memorable action scenes. Some action makes you feel tense.Even though you know Tom Cruise will definitely survive out of this but still there are times where you think he couldn't make it out and hoping he is gonna be fine. (DEFINITELY way better than Terminator Salvation) I didn't review that movie haha.

  The jokes in the movie are great, all the cast are good in their role, they are believable character. Yes yes the female lead Rebecca Ferguson is great and badass , it reminds us of the female lead of Mad Max fury road. The main villain is ok, his motivation is not very clear, we didn't really see what bad things he actually did.

I will give the movie 9/10
 + great action                       - slightly weak villain
 + great cast
 + good and easy to follow story

If you like action and Tom Cruise , it is a must watch movie.


 


 

Jurassic World Review

After many years, Jurassic park franchise is finally back. I noticed many dinosaur and monster battle movies coming back. Recently we have Godzilla and Transformers with dinosaur. Dinosaur is going to be cool again :)

  Anyway after disappointing sequel like Jurassic park 2 and 3, many fans felt that they finally got a reputable sequel to Jurassic Park. Jurassic World took place many years after the events occurred in the first movie while ignoring 2 and 3. Basically it is a fully function dinosaur theme park.

  Honestly I was bored by the first half of the movie because it was pretty much shown in the trailers. The I-rex, the main villain/dinosaur/monster opening scene of it's rampage is pretty good. But not as intense and memorable like when the T-rex first attacked the protagonist in that raining scene. There is also no WOW moment of the awe dinosaurs. Except that one scene where the whale/croc dinosaur jumps out of water and eat the shark but sadly it's already shown in many trailers so it is not that astonish. The CG is terrible and there is barely any real animatronic dinosaur, in short the dinosaurs all looks dam fake. The first three movies dinosaurs look more real. The story arc for the two kids are bad, especially the part where they say about their parents want to get divorce.

Ok I will talk about what I like about this movie. Chris Pratt is a good actor. He only did a few cool and badass stuff. I like the raptos, they are cute and dangerous. The final scene of the movie is dam good. I can say the last part of the movie save the film. I won't spoil it, if you haven't watch the movie, go watch it now.

Final verdict: 7/10
I love dinosaur, it is good to see Jurassic Park back on big screen again.

Mad Max Fury Road Review

 

Mad Max Fury Road Review

If you like car chase and action movie, this movie is a must watch for you. Great practical effects and nonstop action scene. There are many types of destructive vehicles and cool and creative weapons being use. Even though is pack with scene after scene of action, it makes you care about the characters. The story is also not stupid like, there is no much plot holes and it is believable. There is no false romance in the movie.  I love the world of this movie as compare to the recent movie I have watch that is call Tommorowland.

Only problem is there is no surprising plot twist in the end. The cool stuff is already appears on the first and 2^nd act of the movie. I just hope there is more new badass over the top vehicle comes out in the end, unfortunately no.  I wished Max is more badass and he does not really stand out. Like Anakin Skywalker, I don’t like sand that much #joke
 

I won’t give away too much plot details for this one because I want you to watch this movie J

Tommorowland Review

Tommorowland is a weird and inconsistent movie. Many plot holes and there is very little Tommorowland in Tommorowland.

The story start where, a little boy build a jetpack and trying to win the science invention competition in an expo.( can’t remember the exact details but you got what I mean). Then he met a girl and the girl gave him the Tommorowland pin and he went to Tommorowland. That place is cool as hell and sadly enough that the best moment in the entire movie and then it cut. Then it stars a young adult girl bla bla bla until she hold the pin and get into the Tommoroland but it is not real. So the some way less cool terminators want to kill her because she got the Tommoroland pin. Bla blab la, George Clooney bought her to Tommorowland. This is the part that is the most disappointing scene. After such a huge build up and tease on how great the Tommoroland was and we finally get there. There is barely anyone or any cool technology happens there. The plot also didn’t mind to explain what happen. It’s like Godzilla in the final fight has suddenly turn into a small T-rex without any explanation. From that onward is plainly boring, they stop the uninteresting villain and save humanity. The end.

Rating 5/10. Give it a 5 because it is still watchable. There is some funny jokes in this movie and ohya not sure why they are trying to promote pedo.

The Avengers: Age Of Ultron Review

 The Avengers:Age of Ultron can possible be the best movie of the year or since the first Avengers movie. It has all the actions you wanted and a good villain. I rate it 9/10. I will go into much in dept review and later with some spoiler, don't worry i will warn you when i talk about spoiler.

Story:
So the movie starts off with action, the avengers went to retrieve Loki scepter. Then Iron Man created Ultron to protect the Earth using the scepter. Ultron turn evil and wanted to destroy the world because of very lame reason =_=. Then we have more action scene, Thor went to do some side quest. The movie director saw the hobbit and he also added some unnecessary romance in Black Widow and Hulk. There is also more character development for Hawkeye. Vision is created. Quick Sliver and Scarlet Witch joined the avengers. Then they all go fight wave of Ultron 's drones very similar to the first movie but less fun and entertaining to watch. Yea I do nick pick a lot but trust me I enjoyed this movie, I do review like this is because I wanted it to be better not because I hate it.

Character:
Iron Man- He is as awesome as always. When he is fighting and flying, he is cool as well. When he is without his suit and interact with people as Tony Stark, he is fun to watch. If you watch any Iron Man movies before, you will know what I am talking about. Hulkbuster aka Iron Man in huge suit is the highlight of the movie, however I know is my fault for watching too much trailer and the fight clip, I feel disappointed because most of the Iron Man vs Hulk fight fight has been shown in the trailer. They did not do any insane action so ya.

Captain America-  I love how Captain America is portrayed in the Winter Solider. However like the first movie, he is pretty much useless. I felt that without him, the movie can also go on. He upgrade his skill, his hand has some magnetic device to attract the shield back to him. There is a part show in the trailer where he fight Ultron on top of the bus. I got disturb by it because Ultron is a robot and Captian America still had a chance to stand toe on toe with Ultron is ridiculous (Ultron can fly). yea yea I know it is a comic but because Winter Solider had more realistic approach to Captain America and I simply can't undo my mindset. There is one problem about Cinematic Universe, the hero level power varies in different movie. Yes if Batman can fight Superman why not?

Hulk- Hulk really does not do much in the final part of the movie compare to the last avengers movie. Oh stop comparing it to last movie please. I wish Hulk can do more rampage in the movie. He do fight Iron Man so I give it a pass about him.

Thor- I like that hammer joke.  Erm what can i say about him. He is actually a more powerful hero than most other avengers but he never really kick some really badass in this movie. I think this movie never had that super kickass moment not even Ultron except for the Iron Man Hulkbuster suit and sadly it was only use once in that movie. Can you imagine ,Ultron has created a more big and powerful suit that make the avengers look like paper. 

Ultron - I like how Ultron is created and his conversation with other humans. Every time he is on the screen makes me thrill or laugh. Everyone likes Loki for the first movie except me because I think Loki is very weak. I have high hope for Ultron but unfortunately he is also very weak as Captain America can stand against him for a couple of minutes. Ultron do built a bigger suit but it still fail. His minions surprisingly becomes weaker and weaker as the movie progresses. What I really want is Ultron standing firm on the ground and the avengers keep rushing toward him but got kick and thrown aside. Make him more menacing and powerful. In the trailer, you see the avengers look like they got their asses kick dam hard by Ultron which is not that true. It is actually Scarlet Witch powers combine with Quicksilver assisting her and make the Avengers had a tough time and fighting among themselves.

QuickSliver and Scarlet Witch

It is really good to have them in the movie or else it will be the same movie like the first one. Their new unique powers bought the screen to live.

Hawkeye and Black Widow- in the first movie, their existence serve some purpose in the movie. However in this movie.There are more story and screen time for them. I was like get the f out of the way jkjk. I like both of them but I just think they are not suitable to be in the avengers, one shot will likely to kill them.

So now finally spoiler review time

There is actually not much spoiler to talk about as the movie is predictable and the trailer has give away much plot. Vision did nothing much in the movie. Without him the movie also can move on. I know his existence is to build up for the Infinity War. However when he was first introduce, it just give the audience the tension of doubting if he is a good guy or another terrible Ultron that will turn against them. The hawkeye family time is just to pass time. There is also a selfish moment  for hulk when hulk wanted to leave without fighting, I was like seriously where is your sense of justice. I hope hawkeye die instead of Quicksliver. Hawkeye's death will be more emotionally impact full because we see him appear since Thor first movie. There will be like blaming time and lead to the Civil War for next movie.

5 reasons why you should watch The Avengers 2 Age of Ultron

 

 I am writing this article before Avengers Age of Ultron coming out.

1.Iron Man

Iron Man is the coolest super hero in current super hero movie era. He can fly, shoot missile and laser. What's more? erm wait... that'sall LOL but he is Robert Downey Jr.

2.Hulk vs Iron Man hulkbuster

  Just look at the trailer for this scene. If that doesn't make you want to watch it, maybe you can just go watch the oscar winning Birdman and fly away.

3.4 Super Heroes in one movie plus two more new

Yes, you heard me say 4. I not going to count black window and hawkeye because they got no superpower. The two new one will be the Olsen twins quicksliver and scarlet witch. Both of them are in Captain America The winter soilder end credit scene. 

4. Going Dark Knight style

Ever since Christoper Nolan portrayed Batman to be more realistic and darker story. Most current super hero movies follow its footstep like Man of Steel, daredevil, spiderman 3 and the list can go on and on. My point is The Avenger 1 is fun to watch, I am sure this movie is going for a darker tone as show in the trailer. SO??? er... Let move on to my next Point shall we.

 5.Ultron

In the previous avenger movie, our main villian is Loki who is so weak.Loki needed an army to fight avengers. But now we finally have a strong villian call Ultron. Even though, it doesn't not show how powerful Ultron is in the trailer but I am sure he will give Avengers a hard time to breath as shown in the trailer.

 

Blackhat Movie Review

This movie suck!!! If you haven't watch this movie, I strongly suggest you do not to watch it and just read my review about it. Black Hat a movie about computer hacking starring Chirs Hemsworth, Tang Wei and Wang Leehom and directed by Micheal Mann.

The first time I felt that the movie is a complete garbage. This entire movie is full with unnecessary close up shot.  It is like the director only trick is to shoot scene with close up. The story is below average, a movie theme about hacking but the story is surprisingly easily to follow and barely any interesting hacking.

First it starts off with crappy cgi showing how the hacking too place. Then it shows the same sequence of boring cg of another hack.

Then it shows us Wang Leehom and Tang Wei acted as his sister. The only reason I can think of is now Hollywood is trying to make money from China. Chinese will go to watch this shameless movie because it cast their famous actor and actress. Chris Hemsworth is an excellent actor, I believe he is Thor in his marvel movie and a racer is Rush. But I don't buy that Chris Hemsworth is a hacker, because he never spend much time in hacking or talk like an IT nerd in the movie.

Chris and Tang Wei became lover the script is poorly written, in fact all the dialogue is very plain. I supposed they fall in love to each other is because both of them are good looking.

The action scene is so terrible that I laugh in the theater. It felt like a homemake youtube video. The unnecessary shaky camera and close up. The action is just two side of people shooting each other. I did not care at all.

The villain is not cool at all, his plans is very boring.  There is no epic showdown between Chris and the Villain in the hacking world. There was a part where, Chris and the bad guys were holding guns and trying to find each other and a festival was going on. The people just passed by them even though they clearly see them holding guns.

The only thing I can give credit to is the night light is nice in the movie. If you want to watch a movie  about hacking, I suggest you watch die hard 4 and a Japanese drama call Bloody Monday

Best Moments of Lord of the Ring The Return of the King

  There are not many movies that have multiple epicness scene in a movie. Remember those scenes in lortr that will make your body chill even you watch it many times before. Here are the best moments in Lord of the Ring The Return of the King.

Beacon of Minas Tirith

  The mountains are not cg but real mountains. There are many different mountains and shot  differently in this montage. Watching the human lighting up the fire and combine with the epic music, I can watch it many times even though nothing important really happens in this scene.  

Pippin's song

If someone force you to sing a song to him, sing him this song. The scene is very clever edited. The singing, eating,riding and drawing arrows and the orcs leader shouting fire but his voice is muted.

Rohirrim Charge

Surely you saw this coming, don't you. After a long hopeless battle against the orcs. Rohan's armies has finally arrive. Then the king make a great speech and the rest cheer. Then they charge toward the orcs like the light shine through the darkness. Ohya and the scale of the armies is intimating.

Minas Morgul

The scene that show are badass the rest of the movie is going to be.Where you first saw the menacing orcs marching out for wars and also saw the black clothes witch riding a fking dragon.
