The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2 Review

So after a totally no action movie part 1, come this got some action movie part 2. Looking back this The Hunger Games series is not really action movies. But a twilight + star wars + battle royael type of movie. So is it bad or is it good? Let's find out

  I really like the sort of plot twist in this movie :)  nospoiler. This movie is quite dark, the things that Katness had to go through is really a torture. No wonder she is the hero. I like her as the hero, she got time to shine in this movie.  This movie is all about her, it is not like Hobbit where the hobbit is just there.

  Then there is PETA. I really hate him in the first arc of the movie, I dislike him since the first movie. But this movie let me gradually dont hate him when the movie progress. So I got to give credit to the writing and acting.

  NOT Enough ACTION/WAR, I really hope there are more epic battle but I can tell the budget for this movie is not that big. Some of the action in this movie are quite cool but not enough.

  The movie draggggg. It drag for no reason, some of the dialog feel like filler. I like President Snow in this movie :)

Spectre Review

                                               

 

    Spectre is a disappointing film. The trailer makes me so hype up and especially Christopher Waltz will be the villain of the movie. The movie is not interesting at all. Especially the story about MI6 is no longer needed and can be replace by surveillance technology. The villain doesn't appear much in the movie. I know they are using many practical effects for this movie but it doesn't make the action scene more fun to watch. The big ending climate action scene is really boring. There are too many unnecessary cast and story in the movie. I got to say the movie is beautifully shot.

Attack on Titan live action movie part 1 review

  This movie is dam terrible. Before I start my rant I will say that the giant looks very creative and menacing. However that the is the only good thing of the movie. yea the movie call attack on titan, only when the titans attack are the only great, the rest are unwatchable.

  I did watch the anime, I think the anime did way better job than this. I will review this in non anime viewer and anime viewer stand point.

  Story occurs in Japan, where somehow giants exist and love to eat humans. So the human lived in the city protect with wall. Where did the giants come from? no one knows. Basically the main plot is giants break through the wall, then 3 years later they trying to fix that wall to stop giant to come in. That is it... It is very similar to the movie Mad Max, post apocalypse world and a simple story. But Attack on Titan most cast act poorly and uninteresting character. Their acting skill really questionable, it is more fake than the CG of this movie.

  Let start with the main protagonist Eren. He wants to get out of the world to see the big world. He wants to take revenge on the titans because the titan killed his love one. But there is no scene to express how much he hate the titans and how emotional he is still after 3 years. No, we only see him the whole time quarrel with another guy. I didn't see any friendship connect between Eren and his friend Armin. So the scene in the final arc seem not convincing.

  Then there is Eren friend , Armin. Armin just like trying to woo Sha Sha this whole time. Nothing to say about him. No character at all. At least in the anime, Armin is a coward and is really Eren bff.

  Mikasa (aka Eren girlfriend),  .She wasn't strong before the titans attack. I do not know why the movie studio wants to change her story, it is the biggest mistake. she got poor acting skill like Eren. I don't feel she really can kickass. Mikasa in the anime is wayyyy better.

  Hange, she is very stupid and very weak compare to the anime. I wonder how she got her top rank in the movie version. She portrayed as she has a sadist fetish towards the giant. But the way she trying to act like one is like she is telling a joke but no one laugh.

  Shikishima, a new character not from the anime. Whenever he is on the screen, I wanted to punch his face. He is so unlikeable. I do not know what his purpose, maybe he is the bad guy in part 2. I really hope he die. Yea spoiler , nothing bad happen to him in this movie ARRRGH

Action feel like a B movie. CG is bad but can consider good enough for Japan movie standard.

Some of the scene where how the Titans kill the human is over the top. Way too much blood. More blood than tarantino films. I wanted to feel the emotional scene of humans being kill but the among of blood just trying to tell the audience that this is all fake.

I do not recommend watching this film.

Mission Impossible Rogue Nation Review

 Mission Impossible Rogue Nation is the 5th mission impossible movie. It is directed by Christopher McQuarrie who directed Edge of Tomorrow. Staring none other than Tom Cruise again. You might think the 5th franchise is going to go down hill, no you are wrong. To me it is better than Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol.

 The movie is action packed and has many memorable action scenes. Some action makes you feel tense.Even though you know Tom Cruise will definitely survive out of this but still there are times where you think he couldn't make it out and hoping he is gonna be fine. (DEFINITELY way better than Terminator Salvation) I didn't review that movie haha.

  The jokes in the movie are great, all the cast are good in their role, they are believable character. Yes yes the female lead Rebecca Ferguson is great and badass , it reminds us of the female lead of Mad Max fury road. The main villain is ok, his motivation is not very clear, we didn't really see what bad things he actually did.

I will give the movie 9/10
 + great action                       - slightly weak villain
 + great cast
 + good and easy to follow story

If you like action and Tom Cruise , it is a must watch movie.


 


 

Jurassic World Review

After many years, Jurassic park franchise is finally back. I noticed many dinosaur and monster battle movies coming back. Recently we have Godzilla and Transformers with dinosaur. Dinosaur is going to be cool again :)

  Anyway after disappointing sequel like Jurassic park 2 and 3, many fans felt that they finally got a reputable sequel to Jurassic Park. Jurassic World took place many years after the events occurred in the first movie while ignoring 2 and 3. Basically it is a fully function dinosaur theme park.

  Honestly I was bored by the first half of the movie because it was pretty much shown in the trailers. The I-rex, the main villain/dinosaur/monster opening scene of it's rampage is pretty good. But not as intense and memorable like when the T-rex first attacked the protagonist in that raining scene. There is also no WOW moment of the awe dinosaurs. Except that one scene where the whale/croc dinosaur jumps out of water and eat the shark but sadly it's already shown in many trailers so it is not that astonish. The CG is terrible and there is barely any real animatronic dinosaur, in short the dinosaurs all looks dam fake. The first three movies dinosaurs look more real. The story arc for the two kids are bad, especially the part where they say about their parents want to get divorce.

Ok I will talk about what I like about this movie. Chris Pratt is a good actor. He only did a few cool and badass stuff. I like the raptos, they are cute and dangerous. The final scene of the movie is dam good. I can say the last part of the movie save the film. I won't spoil it, if you haven't watch the movie, go watch it now.

Final verdict: 7/10
I love dinosaur, it is good to see Jurassic Park back on big screen again.

Mad Max Fury Road Review

 

Mad Max Fury Road Review

If you like car chase and action movie, this movie is a must watch for you. Great practical effects and nonstop action scene. There are many types of destructive vehicles and cool and creative weapons being use. Even though is pack with scene after scene of action, it makes you care about the characters. The story is also not stupid like, there is no much plot holes and it is believable. There is no false romance in the movie.  I love the world of this movie as compare to the recent movie I have watch that is call Tommorowland.

Only problem is there is no surprising plot twist in the end. The cool stuff is already appears on the first and 2^nd act of the movie. I just hope there is more new badass over the top vehicle comes out in the end, unfortunately no.  I wished Max is more badass and he does not really stand out. Like Anakin Skywalker, I don’t like sand that much #joke
 

I won’t give away too much plot details for this one because I want you to watch this movie J

Tommorowland Review

Tommorowland is a weird and inconsistent movie. Many plot holes and there is very little Tommorowland in Tommorowland.

The story start where, a little boy build a jetpack and trying to win the science invention competition in an expo.( can’t remember the exact details but you got what I mean). Then he met a girl and the girl gave him the Tommorowland pin and he went to Tommorowland. That place is cool as hell and sadly enough that the best moment in the entire movie and then it cut. Then it stars a young adult girl bla bla bla until she hold the pin and get into the Tommoroland but it is not real. So the some way less cool terminators want to kill her because she got the Tommoroland pin. Bla blab la, George Clooney bought her to Tommorowland. This is the part that is the most disappointing scene. After such a huge build up and tease on how great the Tommoroland was and we finally get there. There is barely anyone or any cool technology happens there. The plot also didn’t mind to explain what happen. It’s like Godzilla in the final fight has suddenly turn into a small T-rex without any explanation. From that onward is plainly boring, they stop the uninteresting villain and save humanity. The end.

Rating 5/10. Give it a 5 because it is still watchable. There is some funny jokes in this movie and ohya not sure why they are trying to promote pedo.
